Glenn Sale Donation Recipients

  • youthSpark.   youthSpark is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and our mission is to advocate for children that lack legal and adult protection in abusive and exploitative situations. Our vision is a world where no girl or boy is a product that an be bought, sold, or abused. Our direct service program, youthSpark Voices, provides critical intervention services to girls ages 11-17 who are deemed high risk for trafficking involvement. The girls and their families utilize the donations from the Glenn School Consignment Sale and everyone who donates directly helps us achieve our mission.
  • International Rescue Committee.  Since its inception in 1979, the International Rescue Committee in Atlanta has provided essential resettlement services such as access to basic necessities, education, employment, social services and advocacy, to assist refugees in rebuilding their lives and reuniting families in Georgia.
  • Forever Family.  A program focused on allowing the children of incarcerated parents develop relationships through visits with their incarcerated parents.  This primarily involves providing transportation to and from prison facilities that are typically around 100 miles in distance or a 1.5-3 hour bus ride, depending on the facility.
  • Clothing Closet at Grady Hospital.  The Social Workers at North DeKalb Grady use donations to provide supplies to families utilizing the clinics and programs.   Most of our patients are immigrant families, many from Central America and Mexico but also, Bangladesh, China, Ghana etc.  It is a community clinic and families are very low income/poverty level. Many do not have cars and/or cannot drive. There is a prenatal program and pediatrics and lots of new Moms and babies and toddlers. Families are always thrilled to get the donations.
  • Friends of Refugees.  Friends of Refugees is program located in the vibrant Clarkson, Georgia community.  The goals of the program are to provide support and services to refugees in the greater Atlanta area.  Within the program they provide both a food and clothing distribution program.
  • SafeHouse Outreach.  SafeHouse is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to providing support and assistance to those experiencing poverty and homelessness. One of the programs that SafeHouse provides is a clothing closet for families enrolled in the program.
  • Oakhurst Presbyterian Clothes Closet.  The clothes closet has served the metro area for 20 years; and is one of very few walk in clothes closets. This mean that folks can shop for what they and their family needs without going through another agency or have someone pick out clothes for them; we serve the Decatur, South DeKalb, Atlanta mainly but our sign in sheets indicates that folks come for all over the metro area; we provide emergency clothes to area non-profits as well as clothes for those with job interviews; the clothes from the Glenn Sale are most helpful because we get referrals from Grady Hospital newborns, the Decatur School system, refugee services and United Way’s 211 emergency help line.
  • South Georgia Farm Worker Project.  The Emory Medical community provides medical assistance, support and services to migrant farm workers in the southern part of Georgia.  The Glenn Sale donates clothing to the program for distribution to the migrant farm families.
  • The Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence.`
  • Jerusalem House.
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society.
  • Action Ministries.
  • Sanjeev’s IB Project.  Sanjeev is a student who is currently attending a local elementary school.  He is collecting donations of books throughout the greater Atlanta area to be donated to the migrant farm worker children in the Headstart program run by Telamon Corporation. The Glenn Sale donations at each sale add between 500 and 600 books to his project. He has donated over 3500 books so far!  (The Glenn Sale is so very proud and honored to work with this diligent and compassionate young man!)
